How to Turn One Video into a Week of Content
A practical seven-day plan for getting more from a single video: cut-downs, captions, quotes and behind-the-scenes posts, without filming anything new.

Filming is the expensive part. Editing, captions and posting are where most of the time goes afterwards. But one good video holds more than one post — usually enough for a full week.
Here's a simple plan you can repeat every week.
Before you start: pick the right source video
Repurposing works best with a video that has several distinct moments: a tutorial with steps, an interview with a few strong answers, a vlog with a clear before and after. A 10-minute video with three good ideas beats a 60-second clip with one.
Watch it once and note the timestamps of anything that would make sense on its own.
The seven-day plan
Day 1 — The full video
Publish the complete version where long videos belong: YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook. This is the reference everything else points back to.
Day 2 — The best moment as a vertical clip
Cut the strongest 20–45 seconds into a vertical video for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. Open with the payoff or the question, not the introduction.
Day 3 — A second clip, a different angle
Use another moment from your notes. If Day 2 was the result, Day 3 can be the mistake, the surprise or the "here's why" part.
Day 4 — A text post built from the script
Turn the main idea into a short written post for LinkedIn or Threads: three or four lines, one takeaway, and a link to the full video. Your transcript is the first draft.
Day 5 — Behind the scenes
Share how the video was made: the setup, the outtake, the thing that went wrong. These posts are cheap to make and often get the most replies.
Day 6 — Answer a comment
Pick a question someone asked under the full video and answer it in a short clip or a reply post. It shows people you read comments, and it's an idea your audience already asked for.
Day 7 — Recap and point back
Post a quick recap of the week's idea with a link to the original video, for anyone who missed it.
Keep the work small
- Batch the editing. Cut all clips in one sitting while the project is open.
- Write captions in one place. Draft the main caption once, then adjust the hook and hashtags for each platform.
- Schedule everything at once. Decide the week on Monday and stop thinking about it.
With PostGaadi you can create each clip as its own campaign, tailor the caption for every destination, and schedule the whole week from one calendar. Each post is checked against the platform's limits before it's published, so a clip that's too long for one destination is flagged before the day it's meant to go out.
The real benefit
A week of posts from one video isn't just less work. Repeating one idea from several angles helps people actually remember it — and that's what turns viewers into an audience.
